Catie Cryar

Associate Strategist

Born in New Orleans raised in the suburbs of Houston, Catie Cryar supports GNI Strategies’ clients in field and communications roles ranging from coordinating campaign events to drafting and disseminating press releases and articles.

Catie joins GNI’s full-time staff after spending a year interning with the company while attending The University of Texas at Austin, from which she will graduate in December 2011 with a B.S. in public relations and a B.A. in government. Extracurricular activities at UT include Texas Lassos – with which she has held positions on the organization’s executive board – and membership in the university’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter.

Catie’s interest in politics and communications was sparked at a UT student rally for Hillary Clinton during her 2008 presidential primary campaign.

During the 2010 Texas congressional and gubernatorial elections, Catie worked on a handful of campaigns, including that of Linda Chavez-Thompson, the Democratic candidate for Texas Lieutenant Governor, and Judge John Lipscomb. She has supported candidates at all levels, ranging from candidates for city council and district attorney to gubernatorial aspirants.
